For the last three months, Ryan and I have been planning our new clothing brand; Wolf State Clothing.
It started just after Christmas, while we were browsing Instagram and got talking about different brands such as Represent, Who? Clothing and STAG. There are a few brands set up independently and producing nice designs, so we decided we would give it a go.
First, we had to come up with the name. As two guys from Wolverhampton, we thought “Wolf State” would be quite apt. Then, we needed to decide on a look and feel for the brand. We decided to go with an illustration of a wolf’s head as would be a versatile logo. It could be used on its own, being instantly recognisable as one of the designs shows, or with the Wolf State text.
We are currently up to just over 400 followers on Instagram and 265 on twitter. Whilst the designs were being finalised, we sourced a printer and chose the tees they would be printed on, and once all of the designs were artworked, they were sent to print.
The website and photography came next. We decided to take pictures in a forest, to link in with the strapline; Explore the Unknown. Once the images were finalised, they were edited, retouched and uploaded to the site ready for launch of the website.
We launched our website a week ago and have had a phenomenal response, with orders were being taken just a couple of hours after the site went live. It's such a good feeling to see people having belief in our range and supporting us.
We haven't really slowed down in terms of planning and designing, we're still really keen to progress and move the brand forward. We have a few goodies set to come out for AW16 however right now our focus is on our launch collection "Explore the Unknown".
We decided to call it "Explore the Unknown" as it fits best with the brand at this time. It really is an unknown, when you get the stock in, make the site go live and hope for the best. We couldn't be more happier and we can't wait to get some more products out!
