Tower of London

For my 21st back in May, my parents bought me a trip to the Tower of London. I’ve always been fascinated by the Tudors and the tower itself, with its strange myths and simply how much history that has passed through its gates.

I took a trip down on the bank holiday to a sunny London which was full of Americans asking me where to get a good “pint” from! The tower was a fantastic day out with tonnes to do and see.

The tower, once a palace to the monarchy, remains literally untouched in areas and retains the feeling of medieval England. After having a nose at the crown jewels and a guided tour from one of the serving Yeoman Warders, or Beefeaters as they are better known, it was up to the bloody tower to have a look at some of the rooms where many of the unproven “traitors”of the monarchy were held. Think of a premier inn, just without the bed. Don’t know what they moaned about really.

All in all, a fantastic weekend away in the big smoke!
